National calendars are always solar. Religious calendars are always lunar. India's national solar calendar is similar to that of Iran. Somehow by studying the Shaka people I learned about this calendar. But does anyone even take it seriously? Nobody has said anything about it. I just stumbled on it. Further it offers no advantages over GPC but it is an improvement over the Gregorian Calendar. It starts in the spring, the days in each month are simpler just like in Iran. In Iran the school year is based off their solar calendar which is based on the seasons. This makes planning easier for Iranians. Just as Ethiopians are the power house of Africa because of better time management, so too is Iran a force to be reckoned with due only to their improved calendar. Does the Shaka have an impact here? Is the school system based on it?

Reasons why GPC is more useful? 

• It's perennial. This effects everything. Programming, planning, clearer communication.

• BC/AD confusion solved. The Shaka Calendar has a different dating system that still has this problem. This is a problem with both the Iranian and Indian solar calendar. They are fairly newly invented systems that still haven't solved this. So now people have to juggle more systems and these issues still are not solved. 

GPC for a logical and stream lined efficient future.

GPC starts with the creation of the world similar to the metric system which is based off the dimensions of planet earth. Hence both systems are ideal for the planet we inhabit. The Shaka Calendar starts its year 0 in the year 78 CE corresponding to the Shaka era. The Iranian Calendar starts its year 0 in the year 622 CE corresponding to the birth of Mohammed. All three begin in March. The Iranian Calendar is the most efficient way for Muslims to analyze the life of Mohammed as the Muslim lunar calendar drifts, having no system for leap years. Thus it is the least efficient calendar that has every existed in human history. The Persian keyboard and writing system is also more efficient and logical than that of the Arabs. 

The fact that Iran, India and Saudi Arabia represent three different religions, each with it's respective lunar calendar for religious use, have chosen to advocate their own solar calendar distinct from one another, speaks volumes. The logical global calendar that Ghandi dreamed of for uniting humanity must be solar.
