Less Code
What I realized when I began using GPC for everyday life is that it requires significantly less code to program. Bitcoin is just a program and yet it is toxic to the environment. What is Bitcoin? The three synonyms of efficiency are time, money, energy. Bitcoin is all three wrapped into one. Software is now very important as it has environmental impacts. Ethereum uses more energy than some entire nations in Europe. Most of the problems you see today simply stem from the Gregorian Calendar.
The sad thing about systems is that the suffering that is a direct result of inefficient systems is not easily identifiable. In America I learned that most problems in manufacturing and why Europe is so much better engineered is a direct result of the imperial system.
Imagine if the software on our phones was built on GPC instead of the Gregorian Calendar. 50% of the space would be freed up. It's the time thing. Anything having to do with time is gonna be crazy complicated because the weekly cycle doesn't line up in the Gregorian Calendar. It doesn't matter if it's markdown or python or C++, the Gregorian Calendar is slowing us down. Paris Point was invented by French shoe makers to eliminate the need for half sizes. It's said to improve manufacturing. It's literally just a shoe sizing system.
You are the systems you adopt
DOY
Day Of Year format is the most powerful thing in the world. In GPC every seventh day of the year falls on a Tuesday. Take a number divisible by 7 such as 91 or 98. Both fall on a Tuesday. Why is this important? Because now you can use an events list properly. This feature is missing in most calendar apps. Actually I've never seen it in any. I've only seen it in the systems I use which are built on GPC. Here's an events list of the High Sabbaths
- 001 Rosh Hashanah
- 015 Unleavened Bread
- 021 Moshiach Meal
- 026 Feast of Barley
- 075 Feast of Wheat:
- 124 Feast of Wine
- 173 Feast of Oil
- 183 Trumpets
- 191 Yom kippur
- 192 Yom kippur
- 197 Tabernacles
- 204 Shemini Atseret
Now let's compare what this would look like on the Gregorian Calendar.
- 2024-03-20 Rosh Hashanah
- 2024-04-03 Unleavened Bread
- 2024-04-09 Moshiach Meal
- 2024-04-14 Feast of Barley
- 2024-06-02 Feast of Wheat:
- 2024-07-21 Feast of Wine
- 2024-09-08 Feast of Oil
- 2024-09-18 Trumpets
- 2024-09-26 Yom kippur
- 2024-09-27 Yom kippur
- 2024-10-02 Tabernacles
- 2024-10-16 Shemini Atseret
Which one does your brain like better? The Events list is something I went crazy on. I now query all kinds of information using GPC. It was never possible before in the Gregorian Calendar. Once things get easy you do more. The Aztecs were able to grasp DOY format. That is how they recorded dates. Same exact way. GPC is flexible and can adapt to any need. On my phone I use Day of Week. Day of Month for my 43 file system and DOY for all documents and logs. Day of Year is present in every instance.
Human memory
The entire system is built around the human brain. Why is seven better than 10 or 8? Well the Romans gave up the 10 day week if that says anything. Phone numbers have seven digits because that is what the average human memory is capable of holding. Actually if you are capable of remembering more there is probably something wrong with you. Your brain is not designed to store information, it is designed to have ideas. I use my systems for all my knowledge and task management and they are built on GPC.
Even the leap years are designed around the number seven. Again the system is so simple it hardly needs any explanation. Like the metric system.
It's not just built around human memory but also the human body. Every seventh day is the Sabbath, a day of rest which probably influenced the American two day weekend. A 10 day week is too hard on the body. The athlete that gives his body a rest once a week can outperform the one that doesn't.
Have you met anyone with a sharp memory? They usually live very superficial lives and are engaged in insignificant tasks. Think about it. Why is it so common to misplace the keys? Our brain recognizes that is something mundane. We are equipped with a problem solving machine. That's what it should be doing and ought to be doing all the time.
Two excellent examples. There's a man in China that memorized the entire Websters Dictionary. Another example is religious scholars that have memorized the entire Torah. I don't know why anyone would praise these people. They can't do anything else! Gee I wonder why. Excellent examples of how the human brain works. A cheap cellphone can recite the entire Bible but the average brain can't tackle the Quran. Any time someone brags about an excellent memory, it's the surest indication that they are engaged in nothing.
Your brain is not designed to store information, it's designed to have ideas
There are other ways in which GPC frees up mental RAM. The days of the week.
There are three ways to refer to the days of the week.
1. Deity system: English and German
2. Planetary system: Spanish and Hindi
3. Numerical system: Vietnamese and Hebrew
Vietnam uses the exact same numerical system for the days of the week as Israelis and they are the richest, fastest developing nation in South East Asia. Top of ASEAN. Ethiopia recently built the largest dam in Africa and is bringing light to 100 million homes. They are a rising power house of Africa, the only ones to have never been colonized and in fact they use a completely different system for telling time. They set their watches back six hours so that 7am is 1. I call it 'Sun Time'.
The Numerical system enables you to instantly know the duration between two days. For instance Threeday to Sesday is more intuitive than Tuesday to Friday. Here is a chart
- Sunday - Unday
- Monday - Duday
- Tuesday - Threeday
- Wednesday - Fourday
- Thursday - Fiveday
- Friday - Sesday
- Saturday - Shabat

Our month systems have the same advantage while providing the added benefit of also identifying the season. Thus the weekly and monthly conventions advocated by GPC are designed to free up mental RAM

Going back to the Sabbath. Athletes know your body needs one day in a seven day cycle to rest. I think America is fertile grounds to test the idea of a Sabbath. Europeans tend to work less and have a better quality of life. America has hustle culture. You would think the man in the United States that works every Saturday would have a better quality of life and more financial stability. I have never seen that to be true.
The blunders that go with overlooking this. By not choosing to rest on this day the brain isn't given a chance to defrag so it is particularly vulnerable to suggestion, snake oil salesman, car dealerships, cons and whatever lies and psyops that are circling the globe. Add this to the physical toll life has on the body and it becomes obvious that the Sabbath may well be the single greatest secret to Jewish success over several millennia. Of course success psychology takes any idea from any religion, culture or individual and promotes it. So I approve of this.
I can't prove scientifically that Shabat or Saturday has any known distinction over the other days. I used to believe that it did because my body just shuts down on this day. It's more noticable in adults than children. I realize now that humans have a biological clock set on a seven day cycle. It dominated the other cycles just out of necessity.
Update: Latten Cole did a 16 year study on beavers and found that they tend to rest in their lodges on the Sabbath. I would love to have more verification on this.
HUMAN NECK
We have 12 hours of daylight because of the 12 lines on our hands and 16 hours we are awake just as there are 16 teeth in each jaw. Peace is efficient management of energy and time. Stress is poor management of energy and time. We feel stress in our necks because that is the creators way of reminding us to manage our time and weekly planner. There are 7 vertebrae in the neck or cervical spine.
Sun Time
The next is the hugest thing ever! I got a lot of friends that now use GPC only they refer to it as the Zadok Calendar but Sun Time which is part of it, is still struggling to catch on.
Have you ever wondered how in Italy, Greece, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, all around the world are these magnificent ancient ruins and right next to them are dumpy apartments? Why is the modern world so dumpy compared to our ancestors?
It's sundials. Believe it or not sundials free up so much mental RAM it's not even funny. These lazy, confused and medicated zombies that are beginning to define our era are a product of how we now perceive time.
I switched to Sun Time when I learned that this is how it's done in Ethiopia. It was a challenge at first but now OMG just that enables me to accomplish x4 more in a day. For Suntime your day starts in the morning logically when you wake up instead of the afternoon 1300 or 0100. In order to use Sun Time just take your local time and set the clock back six hours. Here is a chart
0700 - 1
0800 - 2
0900 - 3
1000 - 4
1100 - 5
1200 - 6
1300 - 7
1400 - 8
1500 - 9
1600 - 10
1700 - 11
1800 - 12
1900 - 13
2000 - 14
2100 - 15
2200 - 16
In the above chart I'm only showing the 16 hours 99% of planet earth is awake. Once I started using Suntime my life got less cluttered and more simple. I wake up at the 1st hour. Most ppl use the restroom by the 2nd hour. Before the 4th hour I'm getting a lot done and I still got 12 left! The 6th hour is noon. I might take a Lunch. At the 9th hour it's usually really hot. I think this tends to be the hottest time of the day. Depending on the season I might take a siesta. The etymology of Noon is actually 'ninth hour'. It used to mean 3pm. The 12th hour the sun is going down. I'll be winding down. I'm fast asleep by the 16th hour and when I wake up the countdown starts again.
We have 16 hours in a day just like we have 16 teeth on our upper and lower jaws. The time we are awake should be numbered 1-16. It's a no brainer honestly.
Time is our most precious resource. I've been using Suntime for some time now. My Casio watch is set this way. Now when I look at my watch I see the time as moving closer to the magic number - 16. I want to make the absolute most of my time. I am this way constantly. I wish I grew up using Suntime but I can't look back. I'm gonna use every second I got and hopefully give others more time by simply sharing better, more logical and efficient systems.
Jubilees
Let's analyze how we express longer durations of time. The jubilee cycle is based off the number 7 and the century cycle is based off the number 10. The number ten is just not effective at expressing time. My biggest argument about using centuries is that it's too long of a duration. Centuries align with decades and jubilees align with sabbaticals.
So most people unfortunately are not going to live to be a century but they will live through a jubilee which is 49 years. So the jubilee cycle is based off of the human brain and body. The Aztecs had a cycle of 52 years and Hindus have a cycle of 60 years. Most cultures seemed to have developed a convention closer to a jubilee than a century.
A decade is also way too long which is why presidential elections, the Olympics, nothing is connected to it. It doesn't appear to be that useful. Another disadvantage with decades is that they are not connected to leap years which increases code. With GPC a week is added every seven years or sabbatical to keep the calendar aligned with the seasons and the weekly cycle. It's also directly connected to it's larger units of time. This improves the overall efficiency of the calendar.
The number 10 is good for distances, weight and volume. It doesn't work well with time.
Update: I do think a lot about Gen Z sometimes. They're like a mixture of all prior generations. It's really interesting to analyze. I was watching 70's music videos and thinking "That's kinda like gen Z" then it hit me! That's a jubilee cycle! What we think of as a fad. Those small quirks that make us human. Things that show up and fade with time only to knock on our doors again. Even in America this cycle will come out because it's natural and it's the system we use in GPC.
Our next Jubilee cycle will be in 2030 in the Gregorian Calendar. Gen Z will be a little older and ready to have more of a global impact. That is so perfect. This only works with GPC.
Years
As I'm writing this the year is 2024 in the Gregorian Calendar but 6021 in GPC. Most would agree that the Gregorian system is very neurotic. The whole condition of neurosis is rooted in poor time management. So most of recorded history only goes back 4,000 years. The oldest document was recently discovered. It is Papyrus Jarf or Diary of Merer. Ironically it was a logbook. Whatever system we use should reflect the planet we live on. The Gregorian Calendar doesn't do that.
GPC eliminates the BC/AD or BCE/CE nonsense.
Since software can negatively impact the environment GPC utilities ISO 8601 for dates which is year-month-day or YYYY-MM-DD. ISO 8601 reduces code which is why it's the default system for Obsidian - a knowledge management app. ISO 8601 also positively impacts mental health, it's part of Chinese big to small philosophy which I feel is the driving force for the worlds economy. ISO 8601 is also the original way dates were expressed in the Torah.
Influenced by the Stardate system in Star Trek which ironically does employee Chinese big to small philosophy, there are two ways of writing GPC dates. The first is ISO 8601 YYYY-MM-DD but with dots instead of hyphens. We use hyphens for Gregorian dates. So today is 6021.09.31 and tomorrow is 6021.10.01. In Gregorian that is 2024-12-17 and tomorrow is 2024-12-18. The other way is the standard and preferred GPC way which uses Day of Year format instead of months and days. For example today is 6021.273 and tomorrow is 6021.274.
6021.273 - 6021.274
2024-12-17 to 2024-12-18
Eastern thinking is better
Growing up in America people were obsessed with Star Trek. I couldn't get into it but I find the star dates interesting. Let's analyse star date 41254.7. It breaks down as century-season-day-decimal time
The first two digits of the Stardate are "46." The 4 stands for the 24th Century, the 6 indicates sixth season. The following three digits will progress consecutively during the course of the season from 000 to 999. The digit following the decimal point counts tenths of a day. Stardate 45254.4, therefore, represents the noon hour on the 254th "day" of the fifth season.
Notice the entire thing is decimal! It's the most inefficient system anyone could come up with. Horribly impractical. It's also a good indicator of the western mind. This time keeping system is completely separated from planet earth. You know our home.
The West which is rooted in Christianity and Islam have a linear view of time and the East like Judaism and Hinduism have a cyclical view of time. In both Christianity and Islam we are nearing an ultimatum - heaven. Where is heaven? Nobody knows. Another dimension maybe? I think this concept evolved from the occasional use of the word Shamayim - sky in Hebrew and also Hellenistic thought. But in Judaism the word we use for heaven most is Gan Eden גן עדן which just means 'Garden of Eden'. So heaven is earth and we are just going full circle back to point A. In Hinduism reincarnation is just another type of cyclical thinking.
Look at the West. They talk about colonizing Mars when starvation is still an issue on this planet. It's their linear perception of time. This extraterrestrial obsession has it's roots in Christianity.
GPC brings us back down to earth because it's based on earth. That's where we live.
Months
How long is a month? In the Gregorian Calendar it could be 28, 29, 30 or 31 days. In GPC every season has 91 days consisting of three months. The months in each season follow this pattern 30, 30, 31.
A month is 30 days typically and corresponds to the moon. The word month and moon are etymologically related. The moon phases are earths shadow and the distance between the earth and the Moon are 30 earths. Multiply earths diameter 12,756km by 30 and you should be close to 384,400 kilometers.
GPC is a perfect balance between the earth and the human mind and body. 30 is the age we degrade in the same manner that the moon waxes and wanes. This is when we begin losing the ultimate battle with the law of thermodynamics. If time is the main ingredient in decay then our system for managing that time is the magic pill that can fix everything. I'm not kidding.
Consistency
GPC has a year of 364 days which is divisible by 7. This is what makes a Perennial Calendar work. Everything is consistent. Every season ends on a Tuesday. Day 91, 182, 273 and 364 represent the end of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter and all fall on a Tuesday. The year always starts on a Wednesday, the fourth day of the week. You only have to buy a calendar once. Fill it up. After a few years using GPC you just wake up and follow script. Eventually you can foresee events before they occur. Mishaps and error are eliminated simply by adopting a better system.
GTD
I got heavy into success psychology and am a huge fan of Brian Tracey and his book 'Eat that Frog'. For some reason Alan Clark gained a lot of fame in a short amount of time. He was especially popular among programmers and people into second brain technology. I much prefer Brian Tracey over Alan Clark. But I did read his book GTD - Get Things Done.
The only thing I got from his book was his obsession with the 43 file system. He loaded it with everything he had to do in the year. His itinerary, plane tickets, even the currencies of what countries he would be in. He didn't have to think of anything. The system did it all.
That did change my life forever. In his book he did mention that because of inefficiencies in the Gregorian Calendar he did have to go through the filing system once a year and make sure things were on the right date. This is because the weekly cycle is not in sync with the Gregorian Calendar. That inefficiency doesn't exist with GPC. The 43 file system is already the most powerful tool an individual can possess. Combine it with GPC and it's 10x better!
Unites All Cultures
The above link explains it the best. We are all connected. This is something that slowly becomes more apparent with age. All of our problems on this planet are just time management problems disguised as something else. We really need to get past the silly games and get to the root cause.
The pros of GPC just keep piling up but I think I covered a lot of ground.
Live long and prosper 🖖🏽
